Careers

Most marketers spend their careers helping companies sell more stuff. We spend ours helping organizations change the world.

This isn’t about vanity metrics or viral moments. It’s about building visibility for work that genuinely matters—and doing it with exceptional craft, authentic partnerships, and a team that believes purpose comes before profit.

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK HERE

We only partner with organizations doing genuinely important work. That means every campaign, every strategy session, every brand you touch is making the world better.

Partner with amazing humans

You'll work alongside mission-driven leaders, entrepreneurs, and teammates who care deeply about the work and each other.

Values that aren't just wall art

We truly live our values in how we work, who we choose to work with, and how we treat each other.

Build movements & your expertise

Develop world-class strategic and creative skills while working on campaigns that matter—your success is our success.

Flexible, human-centred culture

We believe in sustainable pace, not burnout culture. We understand you have a life outside of work—and we want you to live it.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What types of roles are you hiring for?

A: We’re building a team of marketers, strategists, writers, creative directors, and client success/account managers who are passionate about mission-driven work. We hire positions depending on organizational needs and project demand. Even if you don’t see a specific opening listed, we’re always open to meeting talented people who are aligned with our values. Tell us what you’d bring to Willow Grey.

Q: Is this a remote position or in-office?

A: We’re a remote-first team based in Ottawa, Ontario. We believe in flexibility and trust our team to do great work wherever they’re most productive. Depending on the role and client needs, some positions may require occasional in-person meetings or client site visits.

Q: What does “fractional” mean?

A: Fractional roles are part-time, ongoing positions (typically 1-3 days per week) that provide senior-level expertise without full-time commitment. These roles work well for experienced professionals who want flexibility while doing meaningful work. Fractional team members are true partners, not contractors—just with variable schedules.

Q: Can I apply if I’m a student or recent graduate?

A: We occasionally have opportunities for emerging talent, but most of our roles require 3-5+ years of relevant experience because we work with sophisticated clients on high-stakes projects. However, if you’re a student or recent grad who’s done exceptional work (great portfolio, relevant internships, demonstrated passion for mission-driven marketing), we’re open to hearing from you. Just be clear about your experience level and what you’re looking for.

Q: What’s the work-life balance like?

A: We believe in sustainable pace, not burnout culture. We understand you have a life outside of work—and we want you to live it. That said, mission-driven work can be demanding, especially around major campaigns or deadlines. We’re honest about when intense periods are coming and support the team through them. We don’t glorify overwork. We value efficiency, smart planning, and protecting your wellbeing.
